Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi Massage

Lomi-lomi massage is not just a physical experience; it also facilitates healing on the mental, emotional and spiritual levels.

My introduction to massage practice was in Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi and it is from this foundation that I base my massage style.

The Lomi Lomi massage is also referred to as Hawaiian or Kahuna massage.

The lomi-lomi massage was one of the many tools used by the ancient Pacific Island healer shamans and I feel blessed to offer this inspirational experience to others. It is an ancient form of massage that originated amongst the Pacific Island people approximately 5,000 years ago (I believe anything that lasts that long must be effective)!

I describe it as a dance over the body, incorporating soft and deep tissue massage with fluent, long flowing strokes. The practitioner uses their hands, forearms and elbows and moves around the table.

It can be an invigorating yet relaxing massage and may be beneficial for releasing emotional blockages and for supporting recovery.

In my experience it has offered people an opportunity to find grounding, integrate a variety of life experiences and connect with their body and beauty and has been for many a wonderful and transformational experience.

Allow lomi-lomi to rejuvenate and relax your body and celebrate your vibrant self.

 Lomi-lomi can help:
• Release patterns and emotions held in the muscles
• Encourage better circulation, immune response, and healthy skin.
• Improve range of motion
• Improve relaxation
• Strengthen your body
• Reduce stress and anxiety.

Lisa has a very special gift of deep listening in her hands. With her sensitive touch I feel she can compassionately perceive everything that's going on in my body and my being. And she has a great treasure chest of techniques and tools with which to respond, so each treatment - rather than following a generic recipe - is uniquely suited to whatever I really need at the time. Lisa's way of working comes from a place of  deep awareness, which helps increase my own awareness of how I am in my body and what patterns I need to be releasing. By asking me for my intention at the start of each treatment, she engages my whole self in this process of healing and transformation. I am a musician and a dancer, and I really appreciate that Lisa approaches my body with great respect, as something sacred which her healing touch can repair and restore.  She is my favourite massage therapist!
